NEWMAN IN ACTION is a kick-off to Newman Catholic School's God's Portion Day fundraising event. While students and their families find countless ways to give of their time and talents throughout the year, Newman In Action is an event where we can gather together to give back to the community that supports our school. Newman Catholic School prides itself on teaching its students Christian values and the importance of service.
On Saturday, August 26th, members of the Newman Catholic Schools Family completed several projects around Lester Milligan and Frederick Hanford Park, Steben's Children's Theater as well as the Elmwood-St. Joseph Municipal Cemetery. We partnered with the City of Mason City to bring new life to paths, landscaping, picnic tables and more. We had 200
participants register (50 more pre-registered than last year!)
Alyse Hesley, with Thrivent Financial chaired this year's Newman In Action and Corporate Farmer generously sponsored the event, providing materials, t-shirts and lunches for everyone involved. It also kick-starts our multi-event God's Portion Day. Attached is a flyer about Newman In Action. It was a great way for the Newman family to show the community how grateful we are for their support of Newman Catholic Schools. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped to make it huge success for the second year in a row!
